A really busy couple of months, bloody nora!
Back in November I did an audition for the Headley Fellowship, which is a Pgdip scholarship run by Trinity Laban, and I got it! They were really interested in the work I’ve been doing around play and music making, and are financially supporting me to develop my practice and continue the work I started with the Minds Ear Orchestra. Thank you Trinity Laban! It’s not often that you get feedback or recognition, and it makes a huge difference.
One of the best parts of the programme is that they pay you to attend events and seminars that can help you explore your practice, so I’ve been at some beautifully odd gig theatre events, mahogany opera group, multisensory performance arts, you name it.
I’m having a huge amount of fun, but in additional to my usual gig schedule and looking after a toddler, it’s a bit intense.
I did some wonderful training with Sing For Pleasure, also. They are the kings and queens of choral leading, especially when working with mixed membership and non reading choirs. They run some brilliant events, and I would highly recommend their weekend workshops to composers and MD’s who want to be working more with singers.
