Rehearsals moved into tech, into performances on Bryony Kimmings’ ‘A Pacifists Guide to the War on Cancer’ – we opened at The Liverpool Playhouse and then moved onto Newcastle Northern Stage, with Coventry Belgrade to follow. I love this show. Not only is it really funny and moving, with exceptional music (ta), it’s really important. Talking about illness, pain and reality from a feminist perspective had the capacity to be super dry and worthy, but what Bryony and Kirsty have done here is to create a really irreverent space where the hard stuff can hit really hard. Every night I am engaged in a new way, and it, and Bryonys work, reminds me to be brave and engage with important shit.
