The Australia leg of ‘A Pacifists Guide to the War on Cancer’ continues, and I realise two and lifelong ambitions – being away for the cold bit of the year, and meeting Madge from Neighbours!

Here we are at The Malthouse in Melbourne.
I am loving our time in Australia- Most days spent with the kids and J exploring all the amazing museums and beaches, and nights on the show getting better and better. Sadly, one of our amazing performers had to fly home, so we auditioned for, cast and rehearsed a local actress (the super talented Liz Esguerra) to take over her role. It was a big ask in the middle of a pretty arduous performance schedule, and I was super proud of everyone.

We are now at our final city, Sydney. It is a shock to the senses and a cockroachy humid blast from the past to be in the tropics again, and I think often of our time in Manilla. What a joy also to be discovering a neighborhood (Enmore) full of vegans, ice-cream, and op shops.
On my way back from the theatre the other night I heard a great band playing and stuck my head round the door of the theatre entrance to discover it was the actual New Power Generation.
The bouncer let me stay there and dance a while, and I realised another life long ambition. It’s been a great tour!
