Thrilled to be back at the legendary University of Sussex this week leading a mass speed composition event with not only the Undergrads, MA’s and PhDs, but also the entire University of Sussex faculty. Legendary head of music Dr Alice Eldridge invited me last year to design something that could not only work as a getting to know you moment to start the new year with a bang, but also set up a culture of excellence, collaboration, and above all LIVE MUSIC MAKING. Which I was thrilled to do, of course- you know this kind of thing is 100% my bag,

Highlights this year? The most diverse cohort ever at Sussex, both instrumentally and in personhood. At least a third of instruments bought were, or were inclusive of tech or electronics, and we had several of the postgrads working on newly invented or AI instruments. Fascinating. Now we have orchestral, Popular, Electronic and AI instruments working together. Also special mention to the wondrous Feedback Cello! Seen here in it’s home environment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_wkeie3qJ4
